Concluding a Program for Qualifying and Preparing Arbiters in the GCC

Qualifying cadres for conflict resolution The fifth and last stage of the program for preparing and qualifying arbiters in the GCC members states was conclude yesterday. The program was attended by nearly 90 participants from official institutes, mainly the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. The program was organized by Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre - one of the initiatives of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry - in cooperation with GCC Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre and the Judicial Training and Studies Institute in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Majdi Ibrahim Qassim, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre, said the program of qualifying arbiters has made great success and was attended by a large number of participants from the Gulf States. He indicated that the program has been successful par excellence in fulfilling its objectives of preparing and qualifying arbiters from the Gulf States to work in the area of resolving commercial conflicts using alternative ways. Objective of the program is to ease the burden on the judiciary using alternative ways, promote the commercial arbitration culture in a scientific and applicable manner across the Gulf region and Arab societies, and shed light on the national commercial arbitration system in the GCC member states.
